Legal Ethics - 2024SLW (LAW-550-005)

An examination of the ethical obligations of a lawyer, including a detailed analysis of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Taking a practical approach to the law of lawyering, we will focus on our duties to clients, third parties, the courts and the profession as a whole. Specific topics will include competence, diligence, client communications, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, the duty of candor toward tribunals and others, and various restrictions on the practice of law and operation of law firms.
